SIGNIFICANT GROWTH PLANS ANNOUNCED AS EGEPLAST UK MARKS 20TH ANNIVERSARY

  • April 5, 2023
  • Company News

egeplast UK has announced plans to double the size of its business as it marks its twentieth anniversary. A leading manufacturer of pipe systems and fabricated fittings, the business – formerly known as Westwood Pipelines Ltd – is part of a €200-million company which operates in 30 countries. The company is now looking to build upon its success during the last 20 years with continued growth and a focus on the future requirements of the water sector.

Steven Jones, Managing Director of egeplast UK, comments:

“We’re delighted to be celebrating our twentieth anniversary. The business was founded with a commitment to developing market leading solutions which help address the needs of the UK’s water, utility and construction sectors. As we mark our twentieth year, the focus on R&D and innovation is more important than ever as society seeks to address key issues such as climate change, the reduction of CO2, the development of water resource and the need for a resilient water supply network which mitigates water leakage from pipe networks. Our focus now is on the development of future proofed pipe systems which will enable our customers to address these challenges not just for the next five years but for the next 50. It is critical that we focus not on the issues of today but on creating solutions for the future.”

To drive growth, egeplast UK will be investing significantly in product and service development, the creation of increased manufacturing capacity and the development of its UK team.

egeplast UK has 20 years’ experience of working with the UK water, construction and utility sectors. It has long term relationships with the majority of UK water companies including Yorkshire Water, South West Water, Welsh Water and Wessex Water. It recently began working with Thames Water and in the last year alone, it has played a key role in the delivery of major projects including the creation of a new 2km water main under the River Dee Estuary for Welsh Water and Anglia Water’s £12 million upgrade to the water network in East Ruston, near Norwich.

It also has long history of working with some of the UK’s largest merchant groups and major contractors some of which have been customers of the business since it was founded in 2003.
