egeplast UK, formerly Westwood Pipelines, has obtained the highest class of the Energy Networks Association’s technical specification certification for its SDR11 black pipe products. ENA Technical Specification TS 12-24 Class 1+ certifies pipe products for use in power and cable networks across the UK and Ireland.
Issued by the Energy Networks Association (ENA) – the industry body representing every major electricity and gas network operator in the UK and Ireland including National Grid – the certification is awarded following stringent independent testing by certification body Control Point. The certification enables egeplast UK to demonstrate that its PE pipe systems meet the standards required by transmission and distribution network operators.
Steven Jones, managing director of egeplast UK, comments: “By meeting the ENA technical specification we can extend our activities and target new market sectors in line with our ongoing business development strategy. It also enables us to better support contractors with which we are already working in the utility sector and to solidify our partnerships with them.”
egeplast SDR11 black pipe is available in diameters ranging from 63mm to 180mm, and in standard lengths. Bespoke pipe lengths can also be provided within short lead times by egeplast UK’s Yorkshire based manufacturing facility.
